JUNIOR SQUADS

Junior 4 (J4)

  • Aged 6-9

  • Minimum Swim England Level 4/5

  • Need to attend 1 Club session a week 

  • Correct strokes for Frontcrawl & Backstroke, and entry level Breaststroke for 25m

  • Basic understanding of Butterfly

  • Average session distance 500m

Junior 4+ (J4+)

  • Aged 7-10

  • Minimum Swim England Level 5/6

  • Need to attend 2 Club sessions a week 

  • Correct strokes for Frontcrawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke for 25m

  • Basic understanding of Butterfly

  • Average session distance 500m

Junior Development

  • Aged 7-10

  • Minimum Swim England Level 6

  • Need to attend 2 Club sessions a week 

  • Correct strokes for Frontcrawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke for 25m

  • Basic understanding of Butterfly

  • Average session distance 500m

Junior 3 (J3)

  • Age 9-11

  • Minimum Swim England Level 7

  • Need to attend 3 Club sessions a week 

  • Correct Frontcrawl, Backstroke & Breaststroke and entry level Fly 25m

  • Entry level Frontcrawl and Backstroke Tumble Turn

  • Average distance covered 800m

Junior 2 (J2)

  • Aged 10-12

  • Need to attend 4 Club sessions a week 

  • 50m Frontcrawl with bi-lateral breathing

  • 50m Backstroke counting into wall

  • 50m Breaststroke with whip kick and 2-handed touches at the wall

  • 25m Butterfly with simultaneous arm recovery and 2-handed touches at finishes

  • Can correctly perform a Breaststroke turn

  • Average distance covered in 1000m

Junior 1 (J1)

  • Aged 10-12+

  • Need to attend 4 Club sessions a week 

  • To competently swim 200m Frontcrawl & Backstroke, 100m Breaststroke, 50m Fly,  and 100m Individual Medley

  • Able to execute legal starts and turns

  • Can use a pace clock to calculate times for all swims

  • Able to pass Swim England Competitive Start Award

  • Average session distance 1500m in 60 min session

TRAINING EQUIPMENT

All Squads (MUST HAVES - ALL ITEMS AVAILABLE ON FASTLEGS WEBSITE:

  • Water Bottle.  We recommend a 1ltr water bottle to ensure you have enough fluids for a full training session or day at competition.  FastLegs stocks Hart SC 1ltr bottles

  • Swim Hat x 2.  Always always have a spare swim cap.  You receive one free when you become a member, additional Hart SC caps can be purchased from Fastlegs

  • Goggles x 2.  Likewise, please always have a spare pair of goggles with you when training or at competitions. 

  • Kickboard. 

  • Pull Buoy. 

  • Fins.  

  • Snorkel.  

  • Skipping Rope - For warm up pre training and competition

  • Net Bag for kit storage. 

  • Drawstring bag for poolside / competitions. PLEASE OWN ONE – FastLegs stock Hart SC branded bags

  • Microfibre towel.  Saves considerable space on poolside rather than bulky towel. PLEASE OWN ONE – FastLegs stock Hart SC branded towels.

  • Club Shirt - Order via FastLegs
