Formative Squads

These formative squads progress swimmers from entry level into ‘FUNdamental Sport Skills. The main emphasis is on instilling proper technique for all strokes, and starts and turns. All ages quoted are for guidance only. There will be exceptions for ‘early’ or ‘late’ development. Progression is at coaches’ discretion.

Performance Squads

Once swimmers are deemed ready by the coaches, they will be moved into the Performance squads. The focus is still on perfecting technique, but swimmers will now be expected to develop in speed and stamina and compete for the the Club in Galas and Open Meets as well as the Club Competitions.

Appropriate attire:

Land training is an extremely important part of training: swimming doesn’t  build enough muscles and strength because it is non-weight bearing. Our land training coaches Luke and Shena plan sessions which are ‘swimming specific’: work which complements swimming.
