ASA
law now requires all Clubs to notify the gala/meet medical officer or referee at
every gala or open meet of swimmers taking any medication.
It is very important that medication taken by swimmers is not on the
banned list, especially if you swim regularly for the club. This applies
even if you are only taking medication for a short time.
The
club needs to be kept informed of any changes in medication and this information
can be given to Linda Charlesworth or Ann Machin. Drug testing can take
place at any time. This includes galas, open meets as well as
normal training sessions. If you
are drug tested and have failed to declare your medication, or you are taking a
banned substance, you could be excluded from swimming.
IT
IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP US INFORMED
For
this reason the club keeps all medical information, in a confidential
file, and this is taken to galas and open meets in case it is needed.
The
form below must be signed by ALL swimmers even if you are not on
medication at the moment.
