WHY A CODE OF CONDUCT?
The purpose of
this document is to establish a minimum standard of behaviour required of
swimmers both on and off poolside: this applies to training sessions and
galas. In order to maintain the
Club’s reputation as a friendly and disciplined organisation and above all
for the safety and well being of swimmers, all members must agree to abide by
the Rules of the Club and in particular the rules contained in this Code of
Conduct.
BEHAVIOUR

not tolerate bullying in any of its many forms.
Members should behave in a polite and orderly manner at any time they
are representing or associated with Hart S.C.
In

SWIMMERS MUST:-
Obey
promptly all instructions from the coaches. This also applies to obeying
instructions at galas from team managers and any of the officials on duty.
Behave in a safe and responsible manner.
Not use abusive language or act in an aggressive
manner.
Behave in a ‘sporting’ manner in all races.
Not be on poolside until a Hart S.C. official is
present..
Changing

SWIMMERS MUST:-
Behave in a responsible and
orderly manner in the shower area and the changing rooms and change as quickly
as possible.
Respect the property of other swimmers and the
Leisure Centre.
Obey any instructions from changing
room stewards, who will also help if you have a problem.
Not use the team/family room - this is out of
bounds to all swimmers.
Coaches
to away galas
SWIMMERS
MUST:-
Remain seated throughout the journey.
Not interfere with any safety equipment including
alarm buttons, switches handles etc.
Comply with any instruction from the coach driver,
respect the condition of the coach and place
all
rubbish in the receptacle at the front of the coach.
SANCTIONS/PUNISHMENT
At the discretion of the
coaches, any swimmer breaking these rules will receive a formal verbal warning
from either the coaches or, if at galas, the team manager. These verbal warnings from the coaches may be supplemented by
exclusion from a training session for a limited period of time or the whole
session. In such cases there will
be no refund of fees. Likewise,
swimmers may be excluded from part or all of a gala.
Persistent offenders or anyone committing a serious offence will
receive a written warning from the committee.
Any recurrence may result in the club Committee ruling that a swimmer
is either temporarily or permanently excluded from the Club.
Before this action is taken the swimmer and his/her parent or guardian
will have the right to put their case to the Club Committee.
